WHO WE ARE

We are a small flower farm and design studio situated on our family farm in Northern California.  We grow countless varieties of flowers, herbs and shrubs for our design work. We also sell flowers through our CSA program and to wholesalers in Sacramento. Each year we design flowers for a handful of weddings and special events. With our attention to detail, and lush style, we can produce gorgeous events using seasonal elements straight from the farm.

ABOUT ANGIE

I am a plant fanatic! All things green and growing inspire me to take notice. I came to farming in 2000 after a short career as a botanist and found the world of horticulture to be a natural fit.  My love of the outdoors made the farm a perfect place to settle in.  In 2002 I came to Northern California to work for my husband on his organic vegetable farm. Since then my love of farming has grown and so have my flower gardens.  Finally in 2010 after having my son, Jude, I started Little Boy Flowers.

There's nothing I love more than heading out into the fields and forests, neighborhoods and orchards and gathering materials for my designs. We're fortunate to live in a wild, remote location between two forks of the Yuba river where we commonly see bear, coyote, deer and bobcat. Our home is situated on the farm which allows us to raise our kids living close to the earth and with a deep connection to the land.

I love hard work, beautiful things, cooking delicious food, frolicking in nature and sharing goodness with others.

ABOUT MY DESIGN PHILOSOPHY AND INSPIRATION

I believe that each season can offer something stunningly beautiful without having to ship flowers from across the world. I love creating arrangements that reflect seasonal abundance. By combining flowers from the farm at the peak of perfection with other interesting elements like berries, foliage, grasses, and seed pods, I am able to create designs that are unique, natural and elegant.

In the past few years I've been lucky to study with some of the best floral designers in the country: Kate Holt of Flowerwild, Sarah and Nicolette of Saipua and The Little Flower School and Erin Benzakein of Floret. These ladies are floral magicians and have taught me so much about creating emotion and movement in my designs. Many thanks to each of them!!
